It has the highest single drop in the world - 226 meters. The color of the water, combined with the magnificent rainforest surrounding the fall, makes it an unbelievable sight.
Anyway, you can’t walk to the Kaieteur Falls, a mini airplane is the way to get there. Ten tourists were stuffed on board, so you can bet your life that it was very hot. There wasn’t a lot of space for our legs either. Luckily the flight from the local airport outside Georgetown to Kaieteur National Park wasn’t a pain because of the scenery from the sky.
taking wasn’t the Orinduik Falls, which separates Guyana from Brazil. But it was a little pretty thing. Lisa didn’t hesitate when given the opportunity to have a little swim in the middle of nowhere. She enjoyed the Guyanese water.
After spending a whole day in the sun – for the first time during our trip – our faces have become slightly pinkish. Hopefully it will turn out to a decent tan over the next few days.
More updates from our lovely stay in Guyana is coming up. In the meantime you can share our Kaieteur-journey with us. Fasten your seatbelts!
Lovely photos Daniel and Lisa. It looks and sounds like you are having a wonderful time.
